Having love the look of Bamboo we decided to plant some and since it is not the cheapest plant we thought it best to grow a Bamboo that not only looked nice but had a purpose.  After doing some research and emailing Bamboo growers we decided on Gigantochloa pseudoarundinacea var. ‘Gombong Batu’.  This Bamboo is suppose to be a  vigorous grower which produces first grade timber and edible shoots as well as Fodder.  It grows to 30 meters with a circumference of 12cm.  This Bamboo seems to be taking its time to grow but is sending out plenty of new shoots which is reassuring.
